Justin Hollins was forced to leave Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers with a pectoral injury and was unable to return. Sean McVay didn’t have an update on his condition after the win, which caused some concern among fans.
McVay met with reporters Monday and provided some news on Hollins’ status, saying he needs surgery to repair the injury and will be placed on injured reserve. He’ll miss at least three weeks on IR but could be designated to return if healthy later in the season.
Terrell Lewis is in line to see his role increase in place of Hollins. Ogbonnia Okoronkwo is also eligible to be activated off injured reserve this week and it sounds like that’s the Rams’ plan.
Sean McVay said OLB Justin Hollins will have surgery for torn pec. Terrell Lewis in line to play a lot, McVay said, and Obo Okoronkwo scheduled to come off IR.

Hollins already has two sacks this season and has played about three-quarters of the team’s defensive snaps. He’s become a starter opposite Leonard Floyd, providing a pass-rush presence off the right side of the defense.
This is a significant blow to the defense, but there’s hope that Lewis and Okoronkwo can replace him for the time being.
