We all know what the big story was from Week 1 of the college football season. We still can’t stop talking about it.
We asked our Pac-12 experts this question: On a scale of 1 to 10, how surprised are you by Colorado’s win at TCU?
Matt Wadleigh, Trojans and Buffaloes Wire: I’d say a 7. I’m not too surprised they won, especially since TCU lost a ton of players from last year’s team. What’s most surprising is the way they won and the confidence they have early on.
Matt Zemek, Trojans Wire: Hugely. This isn’t supposed to be this easy. By “this,” I mean bringing in several dozen transfers after the spring game, throwing them together, giving them a condensed crash course in football, and getting them to play a very clean, organized offensive game in the opener against a Power Five opponent on the road. Yes, TCU was bad, but CU still had to be good enough to pull off that win. I was — and still am — shocked.
Zachary Neel, Ducks Wire: I’d say a 6. I’m not surprised that they are good at the skill positions, but I was impressed with how the offensive line and defensive line held together. We’ll see what happens against Pac-12 teams.
