Bears quarterback Justin Fields had his breakout game in Sunday’s 35-32 loss to the Dolphins, which also happened to be a record-setting afternoon for the second-year QB.
Fields made things difficult for the Dolphins defense in Sunday’s game, particularly in the run game. Fields rushed for 178 yards, the most ever by a quarterback in the regular season. He broke the record previously held by Michael Vick.
That included an impressive 61-yard touchdown run, where Fields reached 20.3 MPH, per Next Gen Stats. But that wasn’t his fastest of the game — he also reached 20.7 MPH on another run.
Fields is the only quarterback with multiple 20 MPH-plus runs in a single game this season, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.

The Bears offense has unlocked something special with Fields’ athleticism, which gives defenses something extra to prepare for. Fields leads Chicago in rushing with 602 yards this season, and it’s fair to wonder if he’ll eclipse the 1,000-yard mark.
