Julio Jones ranked as PFF’s No. 2 WR on downfield targets since 2006

At this point, it’s more of a surprise when Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones isn’t at or near the top of any Pro Football Focus statistic.

In case you needed another metric to help argue Jones’ greatness, which shouldn’t need any verification, PFF released their highest-rated deep threats since 2006.

Used as a way to rate receivers on targets of 20 or more yards down the field, Jones is rated No. 2 by PFF (99.7 grade). Check out the top four highest-ranked wideouts in the graphic below:

Ranked at No. 1 is Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who edged Jones with a 99.9 PFF rating on deep balls.

Over Jones’ nine-year NFL career, he’s averaged 15.2 yards per catch on 797 receptions. He was again dominant in 2019, racking up 99 catches for 1,394 yards and six touchdowns.

The Falcons have done a nice job in attempting to maximize Jones’ rare skill-set by adding weapons like WR Calvin Ridley and RB Todd Gurley.
