The Tennessee Titans have a slew of talent on the offensive side of the ball going into the 2021 season, so predicting who will be the team’s most valuable player is a tough task.
Dan Hanzus of NFL.com took a crack at it and projected wide receiver Julio Jones, who he believes will be at 1,000 yards by Week 12, to be the Titans’ MVP for this coming season.
Call it a hunch. Julio Jones has the feel of a veteran player who will absolutely be rejuvenated by a fresh start on a contender. The future Hall of Famer remained a game-changing playmaker when on the field in his final season with the Falcons, and the presence of A.J. Brown across the field and 2,000-yard rusher Derrick Henry in the backfield means Jones will be in an outstanding position to tear up opposing defenses with his unique skill set. Sometimes a trade just makes too much sense, and this was one of those cases. Half the league will be kicking themselves when Jones is at 1,000 yards by Week 12.
Jones can certainly be that guy for the Titans if he’s the same receiver who dominated with the Atlanta Falcons all those years, but he’ll still have stiff competition from fellow wideout A.J. Brown, running back Derrick Henry and quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
If we had to pick, our choice would easily be Henry. He has been the team’s MVP for each of the last two seasons and until someone unseats him from that distinction, it’s hard to imagine The King not doing it again in 2021.
