Julio Jones bids farewell to Falcons in first statement since trade to Titans

Jones said goodbye to his old team and hello to his new one.

For the first time since being traded from the Atlanta Falcons to the Tennessee Titans, star wide receiver Julio Jones has released a statement saying goodbye to his former franchise and hello to his new one.

The caption on Jones’ statement read, “Forever I’ll love Atlanta.”

Here’s what the statement said in its entirety:

“Thank you ATL for all the love you’ve shown me over the years. It’s been an amazing 10 years playing for the city & all the fans. I appreciate everything you’ve done for me over the years & will never forget my time as an Atlanta Falcon.

“Excited for the next part of my journey here in Nashville. To the fans, I want to thank you all for the warm welcome for me & my family. We are very excited to be part of the Titans family.

“Ready to get to work!”

Shortly after the trade went down, the Falcons showed their appreciation for Jones via a tribute video released on social media.

After 10 seasons in Atlanta, Jones goes down as arguably the greatest player in franchise history and he’ll no doubt have his jersey retired once his career is said and done.

But for now, Jones is intent on helping the Titans win a Super Bowl.
