It’s safe to say Julian Edelman doesn’t want Tom Brady to leave the New England Patriots. Edelman made his feelings abundantly clear with a MEME on Twitter on Tuesday.
Riffing off the famous boombox scene from “Say anything,” Edelman photoshopped his face onto the head of Lloyd Dobler (John Cusack). In the movie, Dobler plays Peter Gabriel’s song, “In Your Eyes,” to Diane Court (Ione Skye) in an attempt to keep their relationship alive. Apparently, Edelman fears his bromance with Brady is in danger of coming to an end, so the Patriots receiver has made a public display of affection.

There’s no mystery as to why Edelman wants Brady to stick around. Though Brady had a down year, Edelman did not. He managed 100 catches, 1,117 receiving yards and six touchdowns despite fighting through multiple injuries (which reportedly required multiple procedures this offseason). And of course, their connection is longstanding. They have played together since 2009 when Edelman entered the league as a seventh-round draft choice
The Patriots would be at a loss without Brady. It seems Edelman, more than anyone, would be devastated.
