Julian Edelman and Tom Brady have long said they’re like brothers. So the receiver clearly knows how to get under the quarterback’s skin.
Edelman is leading a campaign to convince Brady to return to the New England Patriots, and the receiver nudged the quarterback during a college basketball game between UNC and Syracuse. They were sitting on the sideline when a camera pulled up close to them.
Edelman said: “He’s coming back. He’s coming back.”
Brady looked awkwardly at Edelman before uttering something inaudible. That inaudible remark has sparked incredible speculation on his future. Everyone thought he said something different. Here’s a look at the exchange.

So does Edelman know something we don’t? Was he just trying to make Brady uncomfortable? And what the heck did Brady say in response?
Wait, after Edelman says “he’s coming back” does Brady say “he’s not”? That one hurt pic.twitter.com/c8wEITSym9

The look on Tom Brady’s face 😬

So what does Tom Brady say at the end?
A) “He’s not”
B) “This guy”
C) “He’s lying”
D) none of the above https://t.co/02CSRkrU7L— Henry McKenna (@McKennAnalysis) March 1, 2020
Of course we’ve devolved into lip-reading to speculate about Brady’s future.
