New England Patriots receiver Julian Edelman shared a brief but positive Instagram post after undergoing a knee procedure this week, which landed him on injured reserve.
“Minor setback ⏩ major comeback #ToughTimesDontLastToughPeopleDo,” Edelman said on Sunday.
Edelman is no stranger to comebacks from injuries. He dealt with an ACL tear, among other injuries during his career. And he’s made his way back to be one of the top options in the offense.
Bill Belichick said this week he expects Edelman to return in 2020. In the meantime, the Patriots will lean on receivers Damiere Byrd, Jakobi Meyers, N’Keal Harry and Gunner Olszewski. But if the Patriots continue to lose games, they may not rush Edelman back.

New England currently sits at third in the AFC East with one of the NFL’s worst passing offenses.
