Juan Toscano-Anderson earns bid in FIBA’s ‘Dunk of the Decade’ bracket

Juan Toscano-Anderson’s dunk in 2016 for Mexico has advanced to the second round in FIBA’s “Dunk of the Decade” bracket challenge.

The worldwide basketball organization FIBA is working to settle the debate for the dunk of the decade. The basketball group has released a bracket of the 32 top dunks in FIBA play over the past decade. Fans will have control by voting for the slam dunk that deserves to advance to the next round.

One member of the Golden State Warriors made the cut.

Juan Toscano-Anderson’s dunk while representing Mexico in 2016 was nominated in the field of 32. The Warriors forward threw down a nasty one-handed tomahawk putback dunk against Iran in FIBA’s 2016 qualifying tournament.

In the opening round, Toscano-Anderson cruised past former Warrior Alfonzo McKinnie 58-42. The Bay Area native will compete against Puerto Rico’s Ramon Clemente in round two of the Americas region.
