Joshua Dobbs starts for San Francisco in regular-season finale

Former Vol Joshua Dobbs starts NFL regular-season finale for San Francisco.

Arizona (8-9) defeated San Francisco (6-11), 47-24, Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona during Week 18 of the 2024 NFL season.

Former Tennessee quarterback Joshua Dobbs started the regular-season finale for the 49ers. He completed 29-of-43 passing attempts for 326 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Dobbs also totaled 17 yards and one touchdown on eight rushing attempts.

Dobbs played for the Cardinals and Minnesota in 2023.

He signed a one-year contract with the 49ers worth $2.25 million in guaranteed money and $750,000 in incentives.

Dobbs played quarterback for the Vols from 2013-16 under head coach Butch Jones.

He totaled 7,138 passing yards, 53 passing touchdowns, 2,160 rushing yards, 32 rushing rushing touchdowns, 62 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns for Tennessee.

Dobbs was selected by Pittsburgh in the fourth-round of the 2017 NFL draft (No. 135 overall).

He also played for the Steelers (2017-19, 2020-21), Jacksonville (2019), Cleveland (2022),  Tennessee (2022), Arizona (2023) and Minnesota (2023) in the NFL.
