Before Josh Richardson was a shooting guard for the Philadelphia 76ers, he was a young player for the Miami Heat trying to figure out the game. He was a confident player who could back up his talk with some good game, but when he ran into a veteran one night, he had his “welcome to the NBA” moment.
Richardson joined Uninterrupted and he told a story about how he lost $100 in an in-game bet with Memphis Grizzlies veteran Tony Allen. The Heat were hosting the Grizzlies down in Miami and Richardson had a good start to this one. He had 13 points before halftime, but Allen, being one of the better defenders in the league, told Richardson that he’d bet him $100 that he would not score again.
The young player out of Tennessee took the bet and at the end of the game, he, in fact, did not score again for the rest of the game and he owed Allen a cool Benjamin.
