ORLANDO — The Philadelphia 76ers appear to be hitting their stride this summer as the NBA concludes its regular season and gears up for the playoffs. Philadelphia picked up a 108-101 victory over the Orlando Friday night.

Former University of Tennessee basketball player Josh Richardson made a modest contribution for his team in the victory.

He scored five points and had one assist while starting and playing 34 minutes for the Sixers, who used a 31-22 run over the game’s final 12 minutes to put the Magic away at Orlando’s HP Field House.

Richardson, a shooting guard for Philadelphia, played for the Volunteers between 2011-2015 and was a two-time member of the Southeastern Conference’s All-Defensive Team.

He was also an All-SEC performer during his senior season on Rocky Top.

Richardson was taken in the second round of the 2015 NBA draft by the Miami Heat. He played for the Heat between 2015-2019.
