The Philadelphia 76ers are a peculiar bunch. They are one of the most talented squads in the league on paper, but the record does not reflect that. The team is sitting at the 6 seed in the Eastern Conference and it has been tough for them to get any momentum going forward.
Sixers guard Josh Richardson is looking forward to a season resumption in Orlando, but he also understands that team has to be better in certain areas. Specifically, when it comes to speaking up and being more vocal amongst themselves.
“I think the first half of the year was pretty good. I think it could’ve been a lot better,” Richardson explained. “Just going forward, I need myself to keep playing defense the way I always do and try and be consistent and vocal. I think our team needs to be a little bit more vocal going forward. I think that was some of our issues on the road throughout the season.”
#Sixers’ Richardson: “I think our team needs to be a little more vocal moving forward.”

This is a relatively new team. Richardson and Al Horford are two major acquisitions to the starting lineup and those two guys are playing major roles. When a team is as new as the Sixers are at the moment, they really need all of these guys to speak out more and be leaders.
“We’re kind of restarting again since we’ve been away for so long,” Richardson said with a laugh. “We might have to do all that again and learn all that again. Just consistency would be a big thing for us going forward.”
That idea of being vocal is going to be huge for this team. Especially when one considers that the Sixers are going to be playing without their home fans. They will need to rely on each other and have guys step up as leaders and that will all be tested during this time down in Orlando. [lawrence-related id=34123,34117,34107]
