The Jacksonville Jaguars are beginning to put together a list of candidates for their next head coaching position. New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels is not part of the initial list.
McDaniels has prior head coaching experience, serving the role for the Denver Broncos for the 2009 and 2010 seasons. During that time, he compiled an 11-17 record. He also initially accepted a head-coaching job with the Indianapolis Colts in February of 2018. He withdrew his name from the coaching search the same day the Colts were set to make him head coach.
During his tenure with the Patriots, McDaniels has served the roles of personnel assistant, quarterback coach and offensive coordinator. He first joined the staff in 2001.
Just because McDaniels is not on the initial list of candidates does not mean the Jaguars will not ask to interview him. With several teams looking for new head coaches this offseason, his name could show up in coaching searches moving forward.
