Josh Jacobs named MVP for Raiders through Week 7

#Raiders RB Josh Jacobs is off to an MVP-like start to the season

The Raiders have a lot of top-end talent on their roster. Maxx Crosby is as good as any pass rusher in the NFL. Davante Adams remains one of the most dangerous receivers in the league and Darren Waller is a top-five tight end, when healthy.

But the best player for the Raiders this season has been none other than Josh Jacobs. Once again, he was the best player on the field on Sunday as he posted another 100-yard rushing performance and scored three touchdowns.

In a recent piece by ESPN, they named Jacobs as the team’s MVP through the first seven weeks of the 2022 season. Here is what they had to say about the fourth-year running back for the Raiders:

“But Jacobs — who became the first player in franchise history with three straight games of 100 rushing yards and a rushing TD and joined Marcus Allen with his fifth career game gaining 100 rushing yards and scoring multiple TDs — kept the offense afloat again.

He finished with 143 yards and three TDs on 20 carries, becoming just the third back in franchise history with multiple games with three rushing touchdowns, along with Allen and Pete Banaszak.”

Through six games, he’s already totaled 774 yards from scrimmage and six touchdowns. He is averaging a whopping 5.9 yards per touch, which is by far the most of his career.

Jacobs has been absolutely incredible for the Raiders this season and he is why the offense is averaging 27.2 points per game, the third-highest in the NFL. He’s been a superstar who has only gotten better every week.
