Josh Jacobs downgraded to OUT for Raiders vs Broncos

There didn’t seem like much of a chance Josh Jacobs would play this Sunday against the Broncos. Thus his listing as doubtful on the team’s final injury report Friday.

Saturday the team made it official, ruling Jacobs OUT for the game.

The rookie running back missed last week’s game against the Chargers with a shoulder injury he had been nursing since week seven. Then this week, on Christmas Day no less, he woke with a skin infection on his leg, further complicating his status. Though Gruden insisted Jacobs’s status was solely about his shoulder.

DeAndre Washington is expected to again replace Jacobs as he did last week. Washington ran for 85 yards on 23 carries (3.7 yards per carry) with a touchdown. Jalen Richard will see some snaps as well. The third running back is Rod Smith.

Jacobs’s regular season now over, he finishes with 1150 yards and 7 TD’s. That’s the most rushing yards by a Raiders back since Darren McFadden had 1157 yards rushing in 2010 and the second most in 23 years.
