Josh Heupel offered Joe Milton while serving as Missouri’s offensive coordinator

Tennessee’s quarterback unit will have an addition following spring practices with junior Michigan signal-caller Joe Milton.

First-year Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel’s quarterback unit has featured Harrison Bailey, Hendon Hooker and Brian Maurer competing for the Vols’ starting position during spring practices.

Milton entered the NCAA transfer portal on Feb. 18. He is now listed in the University of Tennessee directory and being admitted for the summer of 2021.

Heupel served as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Missouri from 2016-17 before becoming a first-time head coach for UCF in 2018.

In Jan. 2017, Heupel offered Milton to play in his offense at Missouri.

The 6-foot-5, 243-pound Milton played at Olympia High School in Orlando, Florida.

Milton totaled 1,194 passing yards, five passing touchdowns, six interceptions, 156 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns in 14 games at Michigan from 2018-20.
