Tennessee is allowing 115.4 rushing yards per game through five contests in 2023.
The Vols have recorded 47 tackles for a loss and 22 sacks this season.
Head coach Josh Heupel discussed Tennessee’s defensive line during the Vols’ open date.
“Continued depth, ability to play more guys, play hard for 60 minutes,” Heupel said. “Their development and understanding of what they are doing, that can be our scheme, but also their fundamentals. Guys are playing violent. They are disruptive, they are jumping the football, they are winning one-on-one battles. We are going to continue to need that.
“You guys know all offseason a point of emphasis for us was the ability to apply pressure to the quarterback, not just with pressure, and our guys have done a good job of that so far this year.”
