Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel is celebrating his birthday Monday.
He is 43.
Heupel was hired as the Vols’ football head coach on Jan. 27. He comes to Tennessee after serving in the same capacity at UCF from 2018-20, compiling a 28-8 record.

Heupel was a sole offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Missouri (2016-17) and Utah State (2015).
He was a co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Oklahoma from 2011-14. Between 2006–10, Heupel solely oversaw the Sooners’ quarterbacks.
During the 2005 season, Heupel served as tight ends coach at Arizona.
He launched his coaching career in 2004 as a graduate assistant at Oklahoma where he was the starting quarterback during the Sooners’ 2000 BCS national championship season.
