Josh Harris will be at Commanders’ first training camp practice

The new owner will attend his first practice as Washington opens camp.

New Washington Commanders owner Josh Harris will be at the “office” on Wednesday. Washington opens training camp Wednesday, and the new owner will be at practice.

Head coach Ron Rivera met with the media before training camp Wednesday, discussing the new ownership and expectations for 2023. When discussing the new ownership expectations of him, Rivera said Harris would be present for the opening of camp.

“He’ll be here tomorrow,” Rivera said of Harris. “It’ll be a great opportunity for us. He’ll be at practice, and after practice, we’ll spend some time together, he and I talking and just continue to work on things.”

Rivera didn’t mention if any of Harris’ limited partners, such as Mitchell Rales, Mark Ein, David Blitzer, or Magic Johnson, would also be in Ashburn.

Rivera noted with everything happening so fast, he hasn’t had time to sit down with ownership to discuss finalizing the coaching staff or talk about contract extensions for upcoming free agents. Perhaps Rivera will get some with Harris this week, as the team is finally open for business.
