Josh Giddey said he wanted the Thunder to draft Chet Holmgren throughout draft process

“All through the pre-draft process that was the guy I secretly wanted to play with.”

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Josh Giddey was on ESPN’s NBA Today on Friday and revealed that he was rooting for the team to draft Chet Holmgren at No. 2 throughout the entire draft process.

“It’s great. All through the pre-draft process that was the guy I secretly wanted to play with. I knew he was a special talent. He can stretch the floor Finishes well at the ring. Protects the ring like I’ve never seen before from a guy his age. He has my back on that end. So to play with someone like him is really special — and we’ve only played two games together so that chemistry is only going to continue to get better.”

It’s exciting to hear that Giddey and Holmgren are already getting along as them two along with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Lu Dort make up the core of the Thunder so far.

The chemistry between the two continues to improve as both have had the other in their post-game interview along with interacting a ton on social media.
