Defensive End Joseph Ossai
The Longhorns best defender in Joseph Ossai will once again be counted on to lead the charge. He leads the team in almost every major category, which shows the value for the junior pass rush specialist. When lining up on the right side of the defense, Ossai will face Christian Duffie. Duffie ranks second-worst on the team in allowed pressures (12).
Tackles | 52 | 2nd |
TFLs | 13.5 | 1st |
Sacks | 4.5 | 1st |
Forced Fumbles | 3 | 1st |
Pressures | 30 | 1st |
QB Hits | 8 | 1st |
Ossai will be looking to be a disruptive force in the backfield, quarterback Will Howard will need to be on his toes. The Wildcats were able to keep their quarterback upright against Baylor but they don’t possess a pass rusher the caliber of Ossai. If he is able to generate some pressure off the edge, then expect Howard to make mistakes for the Texas defense to pounce on.
