Jordan Poole deflects question about Draymond Green during Wizards introductory press conference

During his introductory presser with the Wizards, Jordan Poole was asked a question about his former teammate with the Warriors.

Despite his trade to the Washington Wizards, the chatter revolving around Jordan Poole and Draymond Green isn’t slowing down. In his introductory press conference with the Wizards, Poole was asked about his now former teammate.

In a crowd of reporters, Poole was asked about the fallout and impact of Green’s punch from last preseason on his trade from the Golden State Warriors. Poole dismissed the question and went on to talk about his move to Washington.

We’re in Washington now. Playing with Kuz – great duo. Being able to really flourish, expand your game and help a new team. Lead an entire group of guys. It’s a challenge that we’re up for. We got a new front office and a lot of people that’s invested. Everybody is locked in and wants to be here and start something that we can have that can be special.

Poole was also asked if he’s heard from his former teammate with the Warriors and seemed to ignore the question entirely.

Last year during the preseason, the start of the Warriors 2022-23 season was headlined by Green punching Poole in practice. The video from the practice facility was later leaked across the internet. Chatter and buzz from the punch lingered throughout the Warriors season through their second-round exit from the postseason with a loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.

At the start of the offseason, the Warriors acquired Chris Paul from the Wizards in a package centered around Poole.

Poole spent his first four seasons with the Warriors after being drafted in the first round of the 2019 NBA draft out of Michigan. In four season in the Bay Area, Poole averaged 15.8 points on 42.1% shooting from the field to go along with 3.4 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game.
