Jordan Love ‘feeling significantly better’ but Packers will work out QBs

The Packers will have a workout for QBs on Tuesday, but Jordan Love is feeling “significantly better” after injuring his shoulder on Saturday.

The Green Bay Packers will have a few quarterbacks in town for a workout on Tuesday even though Jordan Love is feeling much better after sustaining a shoulder injury in the preseason opener against the Houston Texans on Saturday night.

“I know we’re working out some guys tomorrow. Jordan isn’t going to go today. He is feeling a lot better. We’re going to be smart too,” coach Matt LaFleur said Monday.

Love hurt his throwing shoulder on a strip-sack in the second quarter on Saturday. He will miss practice on Monday, but LaFleur said there’s a chance he could still play against the New York Jets on Saturday.

“We’ll see how the week goes and how he recovers. But he is feeling significantly better than he did on game day,” LaFleur said.

Love started against the Texans and played 28 snaps. The only other quarterbacks on the roster are Aaron Rodgers, who won’t play in the preseason, and Kurt Benkert, who played the entire second half in the preseason debut.

It’s unclear who will be in the workout group, but Blake Bortles and Jake Dolegala – who both spent time with the Packers this summer – are available.

At least one other quarterback would be required if Love can’t play against the Jets.
