Jordan Hicks was hospitalized after game vs. Saints

Best wishes go out to Hicks for a speedy recovery

Minnesota Vikings inside linebacker Jordan Hicks injured his leg against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday afternoon.

During his media appearance on Monday afternoon, head coach Kevin O’Connell said that Hicks was brought to the hospital for a procedure after developing compartment syndrome on his shin and remains hospitalized for precautionary reasons.

That’s not a great sign for Hicks who had played in every snap in the previous five weeks and was playing at an extremely high level for the Vikings.

O’Connell did say that in his absence, rookie Ivan Pace Jr. would likely be taking over green dot duties, which means he would be getting the communication from the sideline and the play calls.

Hicks will miss Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos, but any other decisions will not be immediate per O’Connell. This could end up being a multi-week injury or missing just one week. With the bye coming after two games, the Vikings could easily play it safe and hold him out until they play the Raiders on December 10th.
