Jordan Addison avoids major injury, Vikings HC tells media after practice

Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison has avoided a major ankle injury according to head coach Kevin O’Connell and won’t miss extended time.

It’s been a long couple of days for Minnesota Vikings fans. Following the news that rookie quarterback J.J. McCarthy would miss the season with a torn meniscus, the team and fans were met with more bad news.

In yesterday’s joint practice with the Cleveland Browns, wide receiver Jordan Addison suffered an ankle injury that required the cart to take him off the field. It looked like things had gone from bad to worse for the team, but thankfully that is not the case, as it looks like Addison has avoided injury.

Head coach Kevin O’Connell told the media after practice yesterday that Addison was “going to be okay” and that he thought the talented young receiver had avoided anything serious, but also stated that Addison would be held out of practice on Thursday.

O’Connell reiterated that position after today’s practice, confirming that Addison had avoided a major ankle injury and saying “I don’t see him missing any extended time”.

That reassurance should come as a major relief to fans who have seen their first-round draft pick quarterback lost for the season and will have to wait to see their Pro Bowl tight end, T.J. Hockenson, until potentially sometime in November.
