Jonathan Kuminga to start in place of Draymond Green against Lakers in preseason

Jonathan Kuminga is set to make an appearance in the starting lineup against the Lakers in the preseason.

After punching Jordan Poole at practice on Wednesday, Draymond Green has opted to step away from the Golden State Warriors. During his absence, second-year forward Jonathan Kuminga will fill his place in the starting lineup for the preseason.

On Sunday evening, Kuminga will join the starting rotation against the Los Angeles Lakers. On Friday, Kerr praised Kuminga’s performance during a recent scrimmage at training camp.

In Golden State’s first two preseason games against the Washington Wizards, Kuminga played 25 or more minutes in each. Kuminga notched six points in the preseason opener and five points against the Wizards.

The Warriors will welcome the Lakers to Chase Center on Sunday night for a 5:30 p.m. PT tip.
