After initially being named as one of 27 players to accept an invitation to the 2021 USA Men’s basketball U-19 World Cup training camp, Wisconsin rising sophomore Jonathan Davis has made the first cut.
The group of players has been cut down from 27 initial invitees to 17 finalists, and the final 12-man roster will be announced sometime before June 28.
It was a solid first season in Madison for the La Crosse native, as Davis averaged 7 points and just over 4 rebounds per contest while displaying an ability to create his own offense and be a pest on the offensive glass.
The 2021 FIBA U-19 World Cup is set to begin on July 3 when the United States takes on Turkey.
