Jonah Williams reveals he suffered dislocated kneecap, talks return

The Bengals OT toughed it out despite the injury.

Cincinnati Bengals left tackle Jonah Williams had a major injury scare but sounds confident about where things go from here.

Williams suffered a non-contact injury during the Week 5 loss to the Ravens, yet only missed a handful of plays in the first half before returning for the second.

Turns out Williams suffered a dislocated kneecap, which compared to what it looked like or could have been, was about as good as the news could have been.

Now Williams has eyes on suiting up Sunday against the Saints.

“I’m just working on keeping my strength up and getting rid of some of the swelling,” Williams said, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com. “Just working on being able to play. That’s what I’m doing, man. I’m going to be here early, staying late trying to get it fixed and get back to playing as soon as I can”.

Oddly enough, Williams put up his best game of the season against the Ravens despite the injury, though he admits it was probably only adrenaline that got him through.

Given that the offensive tackles have been a major problem point for the offense so far, Williams’ presence and continued upswing is a must-have for Sunday.
