The USC offensive line is deeper this year than it was last year. Yet, while the Trojans do have more depth in 2023 than they did in 2022, it remains that USC will be at its best if its five offensive line starters can remain healthy the whole way. If the Trojans have to use backups, so be it, but the best version of the Men of Troy exists if linemen such as Jonah Monheim play the whole season without missing a game.
Miles Dwyer of Ducks Wire had this to say about Jonah Monheim:
“Jonah Monheim was a top-10 OT according to PFF in 2022, so USC fans should be ecstatic to have him for another year in Los Angeles. On Pac-12 Media Day, USC QB Caleb Williams showed support for the entire Trojans offensive line, including Monheim, despite his omission from the All-Pac-12 First Team.
“As usual, USC will likely employ a pass-first offense in 2023, which makes blindside blockers like Monheim all the more important in preserving the QB and moving the ball, which should make Jonah Monheim one of the most valuable assets in the conference.”
