Last week was an emotional one for Los Angeles Rams fans. Andrew Whitworth announced his retirement, Robert Woods was traded to the Tennessee Titans, and Johnny Hekker was released from the team.
Following his departure from the Rams, Hekker took to Instagram to thank the fans and everyone who has supported him throughout his career.
You can see Hekker’s message on the second page of his post below.

Hekker began his career with the Rams in 2012, signing with the team as an undrafted rookie out of Oregon State. The undrafted punter quickly became a fan favorite after tossing a touchdown pass to Danny Amendola in his rookie year, which he mentioned in his farewell message.
After a successful rookie campaign, Hekker would proceed to spend 10 seasons with the Rams, earning four Pro Bowl selections and four All-Pro nods at punter. Throughout his career, Hekker averaged 46.7 yards per punt and he completed 14 of his 23 pass attempts for 186 yards and a touchdown.
At the very least, after years of never playing on a winning team, Hekker got to end his career with the Rams as a Super Bowl champion.
Even when the Rams were a team that struggled to win games before Sean McVay arrived, Hekker was a bright spot on the roster. At the very least, after years of never playing on a winning team, Hekker got to end his career with the Rams as a Super Bowl champion.
Hekker signed with the Carolina Panthers following his release from the Rams, but it’s safe to say that fans of his will continue to root for him no matter where he goes.
