[autotag]Johni Broome[/autotag] has made numerous impacts on the basketball court for the Auburn Tigers, and it’s no secret that his performance has helped lead his team to success.
He is being recognized for his play by some national committees, being named to the watch list for the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award and the the John R. Wooden Award. He is making his case as one of the best players in the country, and his stats back that up.
According to Evan Miyakawa’s latest rankings, Broome is the seventh-most impactful player in the country overall based on a combination of his talent and stats. He is also rated the third-most impactful defender according to Defensive BPR, which measures his efficiency stats on the court, and fifth in Box DBPR, which measures value from his defensive box stats.
Broome scored 24 points to go along with seven rebounds, two assists, five blocks and two steals in Wednesday’s win over Alabama. He will look to post even more performances like that as the regular season begins to close out.
