John Wolford went from unknown backup quarterback two weeks ago to starting a postseason game for the Rams, but his playoff debut ended rather quickly. He suffered a neck injury 15 snaps into Saturday’s game against the Seahawks after taking a brutal hit to the helmet from Jamal Adams.
Wolford was taken to the hospital as a precaution, but thankfully, he checked out OK. He returned to the Rams’ locker room to celebrate the 30-20 win and was in good spirits, according to Sean McVay.
On Sunday morning, Wolford shared an encouraging update on Instagram, simply writing, “I’m good… on to the next.”

It’s not much, but every update on Wolford has been positive thus far. McVay said he was smiling and is believed to have just suffered a stinger, while Adam Schefter reported Sunday that Wolford “should be OK,” according to a source.
It’s still unknown who will start at quarterback for the Rams in the divisional round, but hopefully Wolford is healthy enough to even have a shot to play against either the Packers or Buccaneers.
