John Wolford celebrated Rams’ win in locker room after returning from hospital

John Wolford is trending in the right direction and is believed to have suffered a stinger.

John Wolford left Saturday’s game with a neck injury and was immediately taken to the locker room. After the initial evaluation, Wolford was transported to the hospital by ambulance, which made an already scary situation even more worrisome.

But even though Wolford was unable to return to the game, he did come back from the hospital to celebrate the Rams’ 30-20 victory at Lumen Field. Sean McVay shared an encouraging update after the victory, saying Wolford was in the locker room smiling and celebrating with his teammates.

Given the circumstances and the initial prognosis, this is excellent news for the young quarterback, who started the game against Seattle.

McVay said Wolford is believed to have suffered a stinger, which is a fairly common injury, though still not always a minor one. Wolford is trending in the right direction, McVay said, a good sign for his availability next week in the divisional round.
