The Baltimore Ravens addressed their offensive line in a big way during the 2021 offseason. Two of their biggest additions were the signings of guard Kevin Zeitler and tackle Alejandro Villanueva to shore up the right side of the line.
When asked about Zeitler and Villanueva, head coach John Harbaugh said that he was “really pleased” with them so far.
“Right, same thing. Getting those guys that are new, so getting them merged into the offense is a big part of it, and then also watching them play has been a pleasure. They’re all ball, all the time – both of those guys. Whether it’s meeting room, weight room, conditioning [or] on the field work – they’re all ball, all the time. I love that about them. I think they’re going to be a formidable tandem on the right side. I’m really pleased with them so far.”
Compared to the right side combination of Ben Powers and Tyre Phillips/D.J. Fluker in 2020 for Baltimore, Zeitler and Villanueva should prove to be a much more consistent and steady pairing. Both will need to learn the playbook and get comfortable with the Ravens’ offensive scheme, but once they settle in, they should help solidify Baltimore’s offensive line.
