[autotag]John Allan[/autotag] now has two UFC bouts booked on his upcoming schedule.
Already slated to compete at UFC 255, Allan also will step in as a late replacement for Gerald Meerschaert to fight Ed Herman Sept. 12 at UFC on ESPN+ 35.
A person with knowledge of the situation confirmed the development to MMA Junkie’s Farah Hannoun but wished to remain anonymous since the UFC has yet to make an announcement. MMA Fighting was first to report the news.

Allan’s short-notice replacement fight is in addition to him meeting Roman Dolidze on Nov. 21 at UFC 255. As of now, the UFC plans on keeping both bouts for Allan (13-5 MMA, 0-0 UFC).
Allan last competed at UFC on ESPN+ 13 in August 2019. The 27-year-old Brazilian defeated Mike Rodriguez in his UFC debut, but the victory was later overturned to a no contest after Allan tested positive for tamoxifen – a prohibited substance. He was issued a suspension by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency.
Allan is 5-1 in his past six bouts and trains out of Chute Boxe Monstro. Allan also competed on Dana White’s Contender Series where he suffered a submission loss to Vinicius Moreira.
With the change, the UFC on ESPN+ 35 lineup includes:
- Thiago Santos vs. Glover Teixeira
- Andrea Lee vs. Roxanne Modafferi
- Tyson Nam vs. Matt Schnell
- Bruno Silva vs. Tagir Ulanbekov
- Frank Camacho vs. Brok Weaver
- Kyle Nelson vs. Billy Quarantillo
- Bryan Barberena vs. Anthony Ivy
- Matt Frevola vs. Roosevelt Roberts
