Joey Bosa had an unintentionally hilarious burn for Derek Carr while discussing the Chargers’ game plan

“Great dude, great player…”

The Los Angeles Chargers went into Monday night’s game against the Raiders with the obvious hope of getting pressure on Derek Carr. And, well, it’s safe to say that the Chargers perfectly executed that defensive game plan.

Carr was sacked four times and took seven hits from the Chargers defense — all while being head to a sub-200-yard passing game — in a 28-14 loss.

When it came time for Chargers star defensive end Joey Bosa to speak in the postgame press conference, he took some spectacularly hilarious and unintentional jabs at Carr. To make it even better, Bosa made the remarks in his usual monotonous delivery.

Bosa said:

“We knew once we hit him a few times, he really gets shook. And you saw on (Christian Covington’s) sack, he was pretty much curling into a ball before we even got back there. So, great dude, great player, he’s been having a great year. But we know once you get pressure on him, he kind of shuts down and he’s not as effective with the crowded pocket. So, that was the key to it.”

That was so cold, Joey. I like how Bosa hedged it all with a couple compliments before ripping Carr’s heart out.

Great dude, great player … BUT he does this if you hit him:

That’ll never not be funny. He was so casual about it.
