Joey Bosa, Chargers agree to monstrous five-year, $135M extension

Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa is not going anywhere for quite some time. The star pass-rusher signed a record-setting five-year extension on Tuesday, making him the highest-paid defensive player in the NFL.Bosa and the Bolts reached an agreement worth $135 million extension. Included within the extension is $102 million in guaranteed money with $78 million guaranteed at signing.Browns’ Myles Garrett previously was the league’s highest-paid defensive player in average salary ($25 million) after he reached a deal two weeks ago. Bosa’s $27 million now tops that.Bosa’s been one of the NFL’s most dominant pass-rushers since he entered the league in 2016, earning two Pro Bowl selections following an AP Defensive Rookie of the Year award.
