College football starts this weekend and while Notre Dame isn’t getting its season started until next week, it is still close.
There are extremely high expectations for the Irish in 2024, and really the only way they live up to them is to make the [autotag]College Football Playoff[/autotag]. Fox Sports college football analyst [autotag]Joel Klatt[/autotag] believes that Notre Dame could very well finish the season undefeated, and thus become the No. 5 seed in the CFP.
During a recent episode of The Joel Klatt Show, he thinks that [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag] is a “heck of a coach” while pointing out that the Irish’s hardest game will be the opener against Texas A&M.
"Marcus Freeman is a heck of a coach!" Where does Notre Dame fall in @joelklatt's 12-Team CFP Bracket? 🍀 pic.twitter.com/UHmH5Y9M5g

He also points out that with only 3 true road games, Notre Dame’s schedule sets up very nicely to make a run this fall. Klatt loves where the Irish offense stands, even as it has to find a new starting tackle.
It would be an amazing season if Klatt is correct, as an undefeated season along with a berth in the CFP would check plenty of boxes for Irish fans.
