One of the most well respect college football analysts is Fox Sports [autotag]Joel Klatt[/autotag], and on Friday he had some very kind words to say about Notre Dame football.
On his show, appropriately named The Joel Klatt Show, the former Colorado quarterback laid out his rationale for why the Irish remind him of the 2023 Washington Huskies. One of the newest members of the Big Ten is coming off a season where they made the College Football Playoff title game.
Klatt cited the additions on offense, most notably quarterback Riley Leonard along with offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock, while also mentioning that he believes that Marcus Freeman will “have a dominant defense.”

Even with our Green and Gold glasses on, it’s hard to imagine Notre Dame having a substandard season. They won’t need to go undefeated during the regular season to make the CFP, but it wouldn’t hurt.
I don’t think many people would complain if the Irish’s 2024 was similar to the Huskies of 2023. Would you?
