PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia 76ers will take on the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night and will welcome their superstar big man back to the lineup.
Joel Embiid, who hasn’t played since Jan. 30 because of a left knee injury, was originally listed as out for this contest. He was upgraded to questionable, and then after his pregame workout he was upgraded to available.
However, one shouldn’t expect Embiid to just walk out and play 35-plus minutes. The Sixers will take this slowly.
“I haven’t gotten that far yet, but I would assume that this is not just zero to 100, right?” coach Nick Nurse said pregame. “So I would assume there’ll be some type of limit on it.”
As for Tyrese Maxey, he is listed as out for this contest due to left hip tightness. It caused him to miss Philadelphia’s road win over the Toronto Raptors on Sunday.
Joel Embiid is officially back. It will be his first game back since Jan. 30.
