Early Thursday morning, the Philadelphia 76ers announced that they are going to build their new arena in Center City that’s set to open in the 2031-32 season. The Sixers have made the Wells Fargo Center their home since 1996, but now is the time to begin looking ahead to the future.
The early artistry of the new arena looks beautiful and the fact that it will be downtown in the Fashion District makes it a hot spot with plenty of stuff to do before and after the game.
However, the fact that it will not open for another nine seasons is not sitting well with Joel Embiid. The big fella had a reaction to the new home questioning the open date and he had two grandpa emojis with the 2032 date.

Embiid is currently 28 years old so by the time the new arena opens, he will be 37. Considering the commitment he has made to keep his body in shape, there is a chance that he could still be in a Sixers uniform by then to open the new arena.
