Joel Embiid ranked as 12th best player in NBA by Bleacher Report

Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid comes in ranked as the 12th best player in the league.

The Philadelphia 76ers boast one of the top players in the league in Joel Embiid as he is always ranked among the best players at his position in the league. However, when considering the entire league and the amount of talent the NBA possesses, where does he stack up?

Well, over at Bleacher Report, they have made a list of the top 100 players in the league and the big fella fell just shy of the top 10. He comes in ranked 12th on the list just ahead of Chris Paul and just behind Jayson Tatum.

B/R on Embiid’s ranking:

Even with ebbs and flows of effort, though, his 23.4 points, 11.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.3 blocks in 30.2 minutes per game impress.

And for the fourth straight season, the Philadelphia 76ers’ net rating is better with Embiid on the floor. His defensive-rating swing ranks in the 94th percentile, which is somehow a career low.

One thing he never struggles with is an ability to get to the line. Among players with at least 5,000 career minutes, Embiid’s 10.1 free-throw attempts per 75 possessions trails only Shaq’s 10.4.

That’s why his true shooting percentage is always above average, despite a 51.4 effective field-goal percentage that falls shy of the 52.2 average during his career.

The Sixers will need Embiid to be at his best when the season resumes in Orlando for them on August 1 against the Indiana Pacers. That is when they will continue their quest for an NBA title inside the bubble at Disney World. [lawrence-related id=34586,34576,34568]
