The Brooklyn Nets have their roster for next season mostly set at this point, but every team is open to making a trade that could make the organization better for years to come. While Brooklyn has not been desperate for a trade, there are certain players that a team would relish the chance to be able to acquire.
Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid is listed as one of the top trade targets for the Nets by Zach Buckley of Bleacher and at first glance, it makes sense why. If Brooklyn was able to pull off a trade for Embiid, he would be the team’s best player by far and he could single-handily put the Nets in contention for a deep playoff run.
One factor to consider when it comes to the viability of a trade for Embiid would be if he would ever be available. Vincent Goodwill of Yahoo! Sports reported recently that many people around the NBA believe that Embiid will ask for a trade “sooner than later” due to the failure of the franchise to make it past the second round of the playoffs and with the current drama with James Harden.
