PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia 76ers will get back at it on Saturday when they play host to the Utah Jazz following a tough loss to the New York Knicks on Friday at home.
The Sixers allowed the Knicks to knock down 13 triples in the first half and 18 for the game. When the defense buckled down in the third quarter, the offense stalled when it needed to get into a rhythm.
Joel Embiid, who had 30 points and 10 rebounds on the night, has an area that he wants the Sixers to be better in when they take on the Jazz.
“We know ourselves and we know that it starts on defense,” Embiid said after the win. “Tonight (Friday), we were not good enough, and yeah. Gotta get better defensively, but then again, it’s one game. It happens. They were hot. We were not. We were not at our best and we’re gonna be fine.”
While Embiid and the Sixers suffered a tough loss to the Knicks, they are happy that they have a quick turnaround against the Jazz. It allows them to flush the loss to New York and move on quickly.
“For sure,” said coach Nick Nurse. “I mean, we’re gonna have to tie our shoes pretty tight and get back out there and fight tomorrow. We have to play a lot better. Yeah.”
Tip off against the Jazz is set for 7:30 p.m. EST from the Wells Fargo Center.
