Joel Embiid out for Sixers vs. Raptors due to right knee recovery

Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid is out against the Toronto Raptors due to right knee injury recovery.

The Philadelphia 76ers look to right the ship after a 1-4 start when they take on the Toronto Raptors on Friday. This will be the second of a four-game road trip and it be a rematch with Toronto after falling on Wednesday.

They will need everybody to step up in the wake of Joel Embiid’s right knee injury. They will not have the big fella against the Raptors due to the injury.

In Embiid’s place, the Sixers will start PJ Tucker at the center spot and move De’Anthony Melton into the starting line. They had some success with that lineup in the preseason against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The biggest issue with going this small against the Raptors is their unique roster. They have significant size and length, and all are skilled.

Tipoff from Scotiabank Arena is set for 7:30 p.m. EDT.
