PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia 76ers have big names on their roster led by Joel Embiid and James Harden. Even Tyrese Maxey is becoming a big name, and he will continue to be when he returns.
However, teams can’t forget about Tobias Harris out on the floor either.
In Monday’s overtime win over the Toronto Raptors, Harris had a big night. He had 21 points and he drilled five 3s on seven attempts, including a big 3-pointer in overtime that proved the difference in a 3-point win.
Of course, he had a second overtime triple get wiped off the board when the Raptors challenged the call. Even without it, Harris was hugely important on Monday.
“He was great,” said Embiid. “He’s a star in his role. That’s what he’s been doing last season, he knocked on big shots. Even the one that got taken away for whatever reason. He’s been great. Great win.”

Considering Harris was really the only Sixer to shoot the ball well from deep on the night, Harden made a smart play to get him a 3 in overtime. PJ Tucker set the screen to get him open and Harden saw it.
“He shot the ball well,” said Harden. “He was one of the few guys who shot the ball well from 3. It’s gonna be like that, man. As much as we want to shoot the ball well every single night, Tobias had it going. In the overtime, I was on the right wing and I saw it out of the corner of my eye, PJ set a pindown for Tobias, I gave him a no-look pass, he knocked down the 3. He played well tonight.”
Despite not being the team’s best player, Harris continues to help put the Sixers in a good spot each game.
“Tobias is doing a really good job,” Harden added. “He’s shooting the ball well and just in transition. When we get out in the open floor, it’s hard to keep him off the ball so we get out in transition and we get easy layups. He’s doing a really good job in his role.”
