Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid is arguably the best center in the NBA. That does not mean that he doesn’t have his fair share of tough nights.
That was the case for Embiid when he struggled against the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday. The superstar big man shot just 5-for-17 from the floor and the Sixers were blown out on the road.
So how does he bounce back? Oh, by putting up a career-high 49 points and knocking down 17-for-24 from the floor in a win over the Atlanta Hawks.
“It’s just bouncing back,” he explained. “We can’t get too high and we can’t get too low. Like I always say, you’re going to make shots some nights, you’re going to miss them some nights. Tonight (Monday), I did make some.”
After the poor performance against Milwaukee, Embiid took on responsibility saying that the loss was on him. Mondy was a prime example of his ability to just move on from those types of losses. Thes things happen, you just have to be able to keep pushing forward.
“The other night, bad night to go cold, but I missed some, so it was a bad game,” he added. “Tonight (Monday), I had a better game, so I’m just going to keep being steady and just keep trying to gradually get better. We play again in two nights, so we move on. Everybody’s going to forget about tonight. The other night, we moved on and we’ve got to get another win.”
He will have to continue this, especially on the road where the team continues to play below average basketball. The Sixers’ next contest is on the road on Wednesday when they face Andre Drummond and the Cleveland Cavaliers. [lawrence-related id=26459,26441,26434]
