BOSTON–The Philadelphia 76ers are set to pay a visit to the Boston Celtics on Friday and they might have to battle without the reigning league MVP.
Joel Embiid, who missed Wednesday’s loss to the New Orleans Pelicans due to an illness, did not attend shootaround on Friday morning from the TD Garden. He is still listed as questionable for the matchup with the Celtics.
If Embiid can’t go, the Sixers will likely once again rely on Marcus Morris Sr. who has gotten the start in the two games the big fella has missed on the season. Philadelphia likes his ability to stretch the floor which helps their spacing on offense.
No, he was not. He remains questionable for tonight. https://t.co/7iE18hj2tG

While Embiid was not at shootaround, Kelly Oubre Jr. was. The veteran forward from Kansas continues to recover from a fractured rib when he was struck by a vehicle back on Nov. 11. He remains out against the Celtics, but his being at shootaround is a good sign.

The Sixers and the Celtics will tip off at 7:30 p.m. EST. If Embiid can’t suit up, then it will certainly be a tough challenge for Philadelphia.
